Skjønnhetsfellen Danmark

Skjønnhetsfellen's Danish edition sits in a strange pocket of Norwegian television: a Danish-produced beauty and makeover format that NRK or TV 2 picked up and wrapped in Norwegian commentary. The result isn't quite reality TV and isn't quite a documentary. Contestants get pulled apart and rebuilt by stylists, and the camera stays close enough that you can see whether the person in the chair actually likes the result. That's the whole appeal. It's voyeuristic, a little cruel, and weirdly addictive, the kind of thing you put on at 21:00 and don't turn off. As a slice of General tv Norway, it says something about how much Scandinavian broadcasters trust cross-border formats over homegrown ones. If you watch Skjønnhetsfellen Danmark online, expect subtitled Danish dialogue buried under a Norwegian voiceover, plus the usual confessionals and before-and-after reveals. The pacing drags in the middle third of most episodes, and the music cues are shameless. Still, there's a bluntness here that British and American makeover shows water down. Worth a slot in your rotation if you like your reality TV with subtitles and a bit of bite.
