RTR Planeta Europe is the international version of Russia's main state channel. For Russian speakers abroad, it's a lifeline. The programming is classic general TV Russia: evening news, a primetime soap, Soviet-era comedies, and endless talk shows. It's not radically different from what you'd find on Russian domestic television, just trimmed for export. The news carries a state perspective, so treat it as official position rather than journalism. But the entertainment block is where the channel shines. You'll see cultural programming that rarely crosses borders, and the production quality is high. The pacing is slow, deliberately so. This isn't flashy cable content. It's background television with a serious identity. If you want to watch RTR Planeta Europe live online, the stream on Tvivu is reliable and lag-free. Keep it for the 21:00 news and the weekend film double-features. You'll come for the drama, stay for the glimpses of a country that most Western outlets can't show you.
