7/8 TV positions itself as a general entertainment channel, but its programming feels uneven in the best possible way. Daytime runs a lot of talk shows, cheerful, loud, very local, where Bulgarian celebrities promote the same things on every channel. The real fun starts past 20:00. That's when the reality formats kick in, and they're unapologetically derivative: think cooking competitions and dating games that borrow heavily from global formats but with a distinctly Bulgarian sense of humor. Music blocks pop up late at night, featuring mostly Bulgarian pop-folk and Europop. Production values are modest, sets look like they were built on a weekday budget, but there's an earnestness that bigger channels lack. Commercial breaks are frequent, so expect interruptions every 12 minutes. If you want to understand what mainstream Bulgarian television feels like after work, 7/8 TV live is a decent window. Just don't expect any ambition beyond filling time between ads.
